• In-mold Technology - This technology allows a strong bond between the outer shell and foam through a molding process under pressure and high temperature. • Ceramic Shell - The outer shell of all ALPINA helmets made by the IN-MOLD method is called CERAMIC. This very thin and lightweight polycarbonate is extremely break- and scratch-resistant, UV-resistant, and antistatic. • Hi Eps - The inner shell of all IN-MOLD helmets is made of HI-EPS (highly expanded polystyrene), a special fine-grained material consisting of many microscopic air cells. Upon impact, these bubbles absorb forces and provide protective cushioning. IN-MOLD helmets with HI-EPS therefore provide the best possible protection.
